THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL WORKSHOP

Get a look behind the scenes and explore many exciting finds from archaeological excavations in Copenhagen.

The Archaeological Workshop opened to the public in October 2017. Here, finds like leather, wood and textiles are analysed and pottery and clay pipes are registered. Visitors can follow the archaeologists at work and even take part in some of the processes. For instance, you can participate in the washing, sorting and analysis of the finds and talk to the archaeologists about the many archaeological excavations in the city. Learn more about the many communities and human activities found in the Copenhagen area in the past.

Part of the Museum of Copenhagen, the Archaeological Workshop is situated on the ground floor of Stormgade 20. The workshop is open to the public and also offers education to kindergartens and schools as well as public lectures and other events.
