📍 Bryghuspladsen by BLOX and DAC, Thursday the 1st of August 4PM-7PM

Get ready for a festive afternoon as we kick off the season’s first Torsdagsbar at Bryghuspladsen at BLOX!

René Hejdmann, Denmark’s most authentic Kim Larsen replica, will headline the event. Known for his victory on “Stjerneklar” on DR1 in 2023, René’s performance is so spot-on, you’ll think Kim Larsen is on stage. Enjoy an entertaining show filled with all the beloved hits like “Papirsklip,” “Susan Himmelblå,” “Midt om Natten,” “Kvinde Min,” “Jutlandia,” and many more.

The concert will be performed in two sets, starting at 4:30 PM and concluding at 6:15 PM, with a short intermission.

In addition to the concert, test your knowledge of Danish architecture through the ages with the Danish Architecture Center. Visit DAC’s bike on the square and challenge your friends in the quiz for a chance to win a DAC club card, valid for a whole year.

Refreshments will be available for purchase at BLOX EATS café, and convenient parking is available in the garage beneath BLOX.

TORSDAGSBAR AND TALK BY AUTHOR LINEA MAJA ERNST AND JOURNALIST CHRISTOFFER EMIL BRUUN

Photo: Joakim Züger

📍 Gammel Strand, Thursday the 8th of August 4PM-7PM

Based on the current exhibition “In the Shadow of Burning Light” by Christina Quarles, which explores artists’ own investigations of identity, Gammel Strand invites you to a conversation between Linea Maja Ernst, author of the critically acclaimed “Kun til Navlen,” and Christoffer Emil Bruun, historian, journalist, and host on P1. The talk will revolve around the need for alternative worldviews and lifestyles in the context of the art scene, culture, and debate.

Join curator Sara Hatla’s introduction to the exhibition at 4:30 PM. Afterwards, we continue with an open conversation in the hall about the need for alternative ways of life and worldview, and how we maintain curiosity and openness even after the battle (possibly) is won.

📍 Thorvaldsens Museum, Thursday the 29th of August 4PM-7PM

Join us for a vibrant Torsdagsbar at Thorvaldsens Museum! In collaboration with Kulturkvarteret, we are offering a delightful evening with music, drinks, and a free drawing workshop on the museum’s picturesque front steps.

Relax in the sun while enjoying the soft tunes of DJ Sara Vita and sip on refreshing drinks. Enhance your drawing skills with the guidance of our talented instructor, Henrik Leach, who will provide sharpened pencils and expert advice.

Bertel Thorvaldsen went to Rome as a young sculptor and ended up living there for 40 years. On his return he donated his works to the city of Copenhagen, and had his own colorful museum built, inspired by Italy’s antique villas and color palettes. Bertel was a true connoisseur who loved music, drinks and art and this Torsdagsbar will be entirely in his spirit!

The beautiful museum will be open from 10 AM to 5 PM, offering you the perfect opportunity to explore Bertel’s inspiring art collection before or after the event.
