Writing workshop, concert, and the history of Danish expeditions. October 9 from 6PM to 12AM is Culture Night in Copenhagen Cultural District.

Jeuru, exhibitions, creative artspace and tower tours
Nikolaj Kunsthal
The New York-born singer/songwriter/rapper Jeuru takes over Nikolaj Kunsthal during Culture Night 2026 with a series of intimate choral performances. The performances can be experienced four times at the Upper Gallery, where Maria Wæhrens’s exhibition “The Answer” provides the setting. At the Lower Gallery, visitors can experience Christian Skjødt Hasselstrøm’s “Meridians”, while Platform is occupied by Emma Rosenzweig and Olivia Turner Saul. Lastly, you can join guided visits to the top of Nikolaj Tower and enjoy panoramic views across Copenhagen.

The National Museum of Denmark
On Culture Night, experience expeditions through time. Actors from the Copenhagen Film and Theatre School bring the voyages of discovery to life, as well as the people who ventured out into the world and expanded our understanding of it. You can also join guided tours and hear talks by the museum’s researchers and curators.

Vartov – Grundtvigsk Forum
On Kulturnat, Grundtvig’s Forum opens the doors to historic Vartov and invites you to an evening filled with singing, storytelling, poetry, music, conversation and community. Inspired by Grundtvig’s ideas about the spirit, we explore what emerges when people come together – through words, song, imagination and community. You can experience inspiring conversations, choral singing, concerts, communal singing, guided tours and a creative workshop for children and the young at heart.

Gammel Strand
Where can joy be found in uncertain and turbulent times? Join us for a spectacular evening at Gammel Strand as we open our doors for Culture Night. Experience the two highly topical exhibitions Still Joy and Olivia Holm-Møller, take part in a communal writing workshop and diary school in the hall, and dance the night away at a silent disco in the courtyard.

Why is Copenhagen in such a hurry?

On Culture Night, you are invited into the world of the museum’s newly opened exhibition “WHATS THE RUSH?”, where photographer Christopher Egeberg Flip explores, through his photographs, the traces left across the city by the anonymous painter SPYO. Look forward to an evening of exploring Copenhagen through photography, music, sound and creative activities.

Light, play, music, and experiences for kids and adults

Inspired by the new exhibition Cities for People, you can dance high above the city at a Silent Disco, get creative with Emma at Kreabix, roast marshmallows over the fire, or create your very own urban creature in the Family Workshop. You can also explore the current exhibitions, take a ride down the DAC Slide, or eat dinner at DAC Café. Outside, experience City Life City Light, a light installation created especially for Culture Night.

Copenhagen Complains! Conflict, Violence and Daily Life in the Eigteenth Century

Drunken craftsmen. Rotten drains. Violent spouses. Piles of rubbish. Harassment in the street. Unjust punishments. Freezing homes. People had plenty to complain about in the 18th century. This exhibition focuses on the thousands of complaints submitted to the City Council by ordinary people. Visitors can also explore the extensive collection of historical photographs or discover who lived in their house 100 years ago.
