The Danish Jewish Museum gives you new insight into Denmark’s history. Here you will find the history of 400 years of Jewish immigration in Denmark: stories about integration, assimilation, conflicts and generosity. All of it conveyed inside boldly beautiful architecture designed by world-renowned architect Daniel Libeskind.
A special focus area is the story of the Danish Jews’ escape from Nazi persecution in October 1943, unfolded before your eyes in the museum’s exhibition space. This display is housed in the 400-year-old boathouse originally built by Christian IV, located next to the Royal Danish Library.
The entrance to the museum is located in the Library Garden, a green oasis in the heart of the Castle Islet.
