As summer slowly draws to a close, the outdoor season in the Cultural Districtis far from over. We’re making the most of late summer and getting a head start on the weekend with a series of unique cultural experiences throughout August and September. The late-summer festival QUARTER TO WEEKEND celebrates those bright after-work hours on Thursdays and Fridays, when the day is winding down and the weekend is just around the corner.
Expand your horizons with a wide range of talks and lectures, enjoy a drink with a historic view, join exclusive guided tours, bring your colleagues along to a concert, or settle in for a delightfully chaotic drag bingo. Join us as we bid farewell to summer and savour the year’s last warm evenings in the cultural heart of Copenhagen.

Contemporary art in Tivoli Gardens
Tivoli Gardens
Experience a one-of-a-kind encounter with contemporary art by some of the Nordic region’s most acclaimed artists. CHART in Tivoli is a collaboration with the leading Nordic art fair CHART – the exhibition can be experienced in the Parterre Garden, as well as one work of art on the Tivoli Lake. In total, the exhibition consists of 11 unique works curated specifically for Tivoli.

Danish Jewish Museum
Join the museum’s curator for an unique guided tour of the Danish Jewish Museum. On the tour you will gain an in-depth insight into 400 years of Danish Jewish history and an understanding of the thoughts behind the museum’s spectacular architecture. Along the way, we will take you through our exhibitions “The Gate to Denmark” and “Flight and Persecution in the 20th Century”.

Himmelblå: Concert – Svaneborg / Kardyb
Vartov – Grundtvigsk Forum
The duo Svaneborg Kardyb takes the stage in Vartov’s Green Courtyard for a concert filled with musical poetry. Rooted in jazz, folk, and Nordic soundscapes, the duo creates music that feels both intimate, dreamlike, and deeply alive. Svaneborg Kardyb is known for their intense musical interplay and improvisational spirit—music that emerges in the moment and makes room for silence, reflection, and powerful emotions.

Join us for a weekend filled with art and debate. Gammel Strand invites you to a mini festival in connection with the opening of the autumn exhibitions Olivia Holm-Møller and Still Joy. The exhibitions open on Friday, 18 September, and throughout the weekend you can experience a programme full of talks, performances, and plenty of great art. Draw Architecture – an evening at the Danish Jewish Museum

Join us for a special evening in the museum’s atmospheric spaces, where you can explore the lines and forms of architecture. The building was designed by world-renowned architect Daniel Libeskind, who celebrates his 80th birthday this year. Using paper, oil pastels, and painter’s tape, you’ll sketch details of the museum’s distinctive architecture.

Maria Wæhrens: The Answer

Rooted in painting, Maria Wæhrens’ solo exhibition unfolds an intuitive and expressive practice centred on spirituality, dreams, and perception in dialogue with the architecture and history of Nikolaj Kunsthal. The exhibition primarily consists of newly produced works – both sculptures and paintings – complemented by murals created directly on the walls.

Christian Skjødt Hasselstrøm: Meridians

Cosmic rays – high-energy particles from outer space – constantly pass through our surroundings and bodies like an invisible rain. In a new monumental, site-specific (sound) installation, Christian Skjødt Hasselstrøm transforms the Lower Gallery into a cosmic listening station.

Land Unknown takes you on expeditions to distant parts of the globe, and into outer space. Join an adventurous journey about survival, knowledge, and the will to carry on – from Niebuhr to Mogensen.

Johan Bech Jespersen x Rewild x Platform
Nikolaj Kunsthal
This autumn, Nikolaj Kunsthal’s project space presents an exhibition developed in collaboration between artist Johan Bech Jespersen and Rewild – a team working across music, art, cultural production, and community building. The Platform programme has been curated by a professional committee consisting of Esben Weile Kjær (artist), Ilethia Sharp (curator, gallerist), Ida Kvetny (artist), and Magnus Kaslov (PhD, SMK – National Gallery of Denmark). The project space Platform has been supported by a three-year grant from the Det Obelske Familiefond.
